Aus Sicht des Ducks-Fans bin ich mit den Entwicklungen gestern sehr zufrieden.. Aus dem 12th Overall wurde der 17th und 28th, aus dem 28th dann noch zwei frühe 2nd-Rounder. Heute sind die Ducks dann drei Mal innerhalb der ersten 10 Picks im zweiten Durchgang dran, wenn nicht noch Trades passieren. Einige interessante Leute gibt es auch noch.

Der Pick der Ducks, Jake Gardiner, war sicherlich nicht eines der größeren Themen, ist aber ein guter fit bei den Ducks. Offensiv orientierter Verteidiger, dazu der vermutlich beste Skater in der ersten Runde. Auf lange Sicht gesehen erhofft man sich vielleicht einen Scotty-Nachfolger, wobei natürlich klar ist, dass so ein Vergleich zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt sehr weit hergeholt ist. Mit den drei frühen Picks heute bin ich natürlich schon sehr gespannt auf Runde 2. Ein Staal-Bruder ist ja zum Beispiel noch draußen, sowie in Markström ein interessanter Goalie-Prospect, mit Robak ein Spieler, der eigtl. in Runde 1 erwartet wurde, Dalpe und andere...

Interessant fand ich die Leafs. Gut, man mag sagen, dass sie mit einem 2nd und einem 3rd eine Menge bezahlt haben, um zwei Positionen raufzukommen, aber am Ende haben sie mit Luke Schenn den Mann bekommen, den sie haben wollten und vielleicht genau den, den sie am ehesten brauchen. Angst machen auf Dauer die Lokalrivalen aus L.A... Zwar ist Cammalleri weg, dafür haben sie jetzt einen Defensiv-Core mit Johnson, Doughty und Teubert. Damn. Als ob die Pacific Division nicht schon stark genug wäre, kann man den Yotes nebenbei auch noch förmlich dabei zugucken, wie sie stärker werden. Ohnehin schon mit Talenten gespickt bekommen sie einen Jokinen zum fast-Nulltarif. Gut, in der Defensive klafft nun ein kleines Loch, aber mit Boedker haben sie ein weiteres gutes Talent hinzubekommen.

Deschamps and O'Dell sind zwei schoene picks von Anaheim. Vor allem O'Dell den ich ein paar Mal im Februar gesehen habe.
